Curiously joined by the chances of the history, the Italian enclave and the Chinese enclave succeeded in cohabiting with more or less of success during several decades. Little Italy is the oldest ethnic district of New York, and is undoubtedly a very pretty district, renowned to be the safest of Manhattan, because kept by the Maffia but the younger generations of Italians went to thrive elsewhere, towards Brooklyn, and even if the families find themselves joined together in the historical enclave for the special occasions, Little Italy seems to become more and more a museum with its small shops and its streets bordered by famous restaurants, coffees and pastry makings.
