Doï Suthep


The hill which bears its name is at 11 km in the west of the town of Chiang Mai. It is dominated by the Wat Phrathat Doï Suthep, perched at 1000 metres of altitude. Although there is a funicular, the pilgrims have habit to go there on foot. They finish their rise by climbing a staircase of 306 steps, in the shade of the frangipanis.
