Fakhr ed-Din


The fortress hung out on the mountain in the North-West dominates Palmyra. The first foundations date from VIIth century, during the Omeyyad time, but the current fortress, carried out by the Lebanese emir Fakhr ed-Din, date from XVIIth century.
