Palmyra - Nobody does not know precisely how long this palm plantation is inhabited. Mentioned in the tablets of second millennium BC, found in Mari under its Arab name of Tadmor, the "city of the Palm trees" is called "Palmyra" by the Greeks Macedonians, the Seleucid, at the end of IVth century BC.
