The majority of the Indians of Singapore belong to hindouist confession. But many Indians belong to Moslem confession. With the aim to ensure the survival and the prosperity of Singapore since its independence in 1959, the government endeavours to bind the population with different races in only one nation. The objective is to convince them to be considered before just like citizens of Singapore, faithful to the nation, and not like members of the various distinct ethnics groups.
