The region of Sossusvlei is the most accessible part of the sea of sand, 300 km long and 150 km broad, which covers more than 32 000 km2 of Western Namibia. This vast sand desert is between Khoichab in the south and Kuiseb canyon in the north is considered to hold some of the highest and most beautiful dunes of the world.
