Twyfelfontein


The whole of Twyfelfontein is composed essentially of engravings carried out in the red sandstone approximately 6000 years ago. With time, they overlapped with a strong patina which protects them from erosion. Some animal species represented any more do not meet so far in the south nowadays: it is the case of the elephant, the rhinoceros, the giraffe and the lion.
