The majority of Herero living in the rural areas of Namibia always regard their cattle as their most invaluable good. The very particular clothes of the women Herero is a heritage of German missionaries of the Victorian time, who take offence at what seemed to them a lack of decency. It consists of an enormous crinoline worn on a string of underskirts and of a headdress in the shape of horn.
