On the High plateau, between June and September, the Madagascans organize the ceremonies of the turning over of deaths. These festivals consist in opening the tombs, to come out the remains of the ancestors to make them revive a few hours with the alive ones. The parents, the friends flow out with clothes of parade; one drinks, one eats, one dances, one offers gifts. One brings back the funeral remains to the house, one changes the shroud, one offers to the ancestor some small money, some alcohol, proving to him thus that it was not erased from memory of his descendants. Then one restores it to his tomb, until the next turning over.
