The Caravanserai (Khan el-Franj or Caravanserai of the French) was built in the XVIIth century by Fakhr ed-Dine to develop the trade with the Occident. Khan el-Franj, of rectangular form, was used as warehouses, stables and, on the floor, rooms for the merchants come to negotiate in town.
