Petra is one of the magic places as there exists much in the world. Petra is a chaos of rocks (meaning of Petra in Greek) shaped by wind, sand and water, in which have been sculpted tombs, temples and monuments. The different kinds of sandstones give to the site its extraordinary colors: yellow, orange, pink, red, purple and blue. Petra was the capital of Nabateans, Semitic people originate from Arabia, which was set up in this place from the IVth century. The few 600 monuments carved in the rock stretches on a field of approximately 6 km by 3 km.
