The Qutb minar (the minaret ofQutub-ed-Din) date from 1199. 72,5 metres high, it is the highest monument of India. Its diameter being 15 metres at the base and 3 metres at the top. An interior staircase leads to the external galleries from where the muezzin called to the prayer. The monument is decorated with vast strips of Koranic verses. This minaret has also a symbolic function, it's a tower victory for glorify Islam victory against idolatrous. At the same time, Youssouf 1st raised in Seville a tower even highest, the Giralda.
