Marie-Galante, the island with a hundred mills, is situated at 30 km of the southeast of Guadeloupe. Its surface is 158 km2 and did not count any more 12000 inhabitants. Essentially agricultural, the island also knows an activity of fishing and tourism. The exploitation of the sugar cane is very present and its magnificent white sand beaches are protected.
