Rio Dulce delimits the north and the south of the country. As of the mouth, the river is locked up between two abrupt limestones walls by forming many meanders. Then the bed curves between lower banks, whose spout out sources of hot water, before widening in a lake, broad from 5 to 7 km, length of twenty, the Golfete, bordered with mangroves.
