Work of the Syrian astronomer Andronicos, who carried out the Wind Tower at the 1st century before Christ, this ingenious pentelic marble construction functioned at the same time like sundial, wind vane, water clock and compass. Each one of its eight frontages represents a point of the compass and is decorated with a low-relief.
