Ornans


The Loue river, crosses the beautiful town of Ornans between two lines of houses on pile. This "mirror" river, is undoubtedly the most beautiful fleuron of this city which, however, account also some beautiful monuments: the church, rebuilt in XVIth starting from a Roman building, the town hall of XVIIIth, the hotel of Grospain (XVth century). And especially, Ornans is the fatherland of Gustave Courbet, which marvelously knew to capture in its paintings the atmosphere of the landscapes of Loue.
