Aiguille Verte

The Aiguille Verte, 4122 metres, in the Mont-Blanc massif. Chamonix was used as field of observation in Savoy to the naturalist and to Genevan geologist Saussure which, in 1760, promised a reward to the winner of the Mont-Blanc. August 8, 1786, Doctor Paccard and Jacques Balmat made a success of the exploit, inaugurating the era of the climbings in mountain.
