Jumièges


The abbey of Jumièges, founded from the 7th century by Saint-Philibert, counted, 50 years later, 700 monks and 1500 converts. The Norse invasions ruined the abbey and it had to be awaited 1020 so that abbots builders raise it later, it known the ravages of the wars of religion and the exploitation of a career. In 1852, a new owner saved it from destruction, but it is in ruin.
