Addis Ababa is a recent city, located at an altitude of 2400 m. There is not any vestige of the civilization of Abyssinia, the city has a hundred years. Addis Ababa means "new flower" in amharic, and was founded at the end of XIXth century under the impulse of the wife of the emperor Menelik II, the empress Taitu.
