Bayamo

The capital of the province, Bayamo is a city with lots of history. It is here that was born Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, in 1819, and it was the first city to be liberated, after "the Father of the Homeland" invited its compatriots to take the weapons against the Spaniards: it was the beginning of the Ten Year war, in October 1868.
