The statues of Shendao (the Sacred Way) are located near Ming graves. The Sacred Way, 7 km long is bordered by civil mandarins and well-read mandarins men which form the funeral procession. This portion of the alley lined with statues ends in the Dragon and Phoenix Gates, symbolizing the emperor and the empress.
